Hello and welcome...
Headshots are the most important
marketing tool in any actors arsenal. Why, because unless you've
already reached the top, they are usually the first thing a casting
director or client sees and are the gateway to the next step, the
audition. I've worked in production on many commercials and seen
first hand the initial selection process and it's enough make any
actor's knees weak or to put it another way, I've dealt playing
cards slower than some clients go through headshots. For this reason
your headshots need to say something the second you look at them,
and that something is in your eyes, your smile and your body language.
For this reason it is important to feel comfortable during the
shoot. That's why I have Sven and Olga from the Swedish Massage
Team here to assist with that..Just kidding, unfortunately. My
philosophy when it comes to shooting is to see what my clients
bring to the table and then adjust how I work to fit their personality.
What I mean by that is, some people are very confident and
out going in front of a still camera and need little in the way
of direction where others may not have too much experience with
still shoots and may need a little more coercing. That being said,
think of me as you would a director on a movie, I direct the shoot
but I'm always open to your input and ideas so feel free to be
yourself. Check the "THE SESSION" link for shoot day tips and suggestions.
A bit about me...
I've been in the professional
photo business for over fourteen years. I worked for some of the
top photographers in town and learned to light from the best. I
tend to use natural light when it comes to headshots because it's
less intrusive and allows you be yourself and feel more relaxed
than studio lighting. I do have a full range of studio
lighting if that's the look you prefer however casting directors
seem to favor the natural look these days. That said, I'm a photographer
not an actor. Photography is my business and my life and I know
how to bring out the best in you.
Hope to see you soon,
Andrew...
PS. I would put a picture of
me on the this page but trust me, I'm better off behind the camera.
